Fire broke out in a barn in northeastern Crawford County late Sunday evening and killed approximately six horses according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire at 7272 St. Rt. 96 in rural Crestline was called in at 11:38 Sunday evening. According to records with the Crawford County Auditor’s Office that property belongs to Robert and Judith Bauer.
The Tiro-Auburn Fire Department was the first to respond to the scene. Also aiding and on scene were firefighters and equipment from Jefferson Township, Liberty Township, Crestline and Shelby fire departments.
There was no information as to the suspected cause of the fire or the value of property lost.
