BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—On Thursday, Crawford County Now announced a joint effort by the Bucyrus and Wynford High School music boosters to honor Bucyrus native Marshall McPeek, who is currently battling sarcoma. After months of intense treatment, Marshall is resting and continuing his recovery.

An Emmy Award-winning meteorologist and journalist, Marshall is a longtime Columbus television personality. He grew up in Bucyrus and graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University’s Honors College with a degree in journalism. He later received meteorology training from Mississippi State University and earned the American Meteorological Society’s prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation, CBM #501.

Marshall also spent time working at WBCO/WQEL alongside local broadcasting legend Davey Jones. Davey recently invited Marshall to join The Phoneboard during Friday night’s big game celebrating 50 years of the football rivalry. Marshall responded with this heartfelt message:

Let’s all listen in and hope Marshall is able to join the program. Phone home  Marshall! You are in our thoughts and prayers.
