The Central Joint Ambulance District held some discussions about funding for future contracts during their meeting Wednesday night.
Chatfield Township Trustee Terry Leonhart had initially brought to the table information concerning a grant from the Local Government Safety council, but this segued into a broader discussion of what long term plans need to be for the county in regards to providing ambulance service and the funding necessary.
“We need to be looking at all our options,” Leonhart said.
It was eventually deemed that applying for this particular grant was not practical with the turnaround time for the application being only 30 days away, but it is something that can be considered in years to come.
The current deal with Lifesupport runs through the end of 2017.
