Buckeye Central dominated the middle two quarters Saturday night to quash any hopes of a Bucyrus upset in N-10 action. The Bucks handled the Redmen by a final of 66-47.
Buckeye Central is now 9-4 in league play and 12-6 overall. Bucyrus slips to 1-12 and 1-17.
The Redmen held the lead after one quarter of play, 15-3, but were outscored by the Bucks in the next two quarters by a total of 40-20.
Three Buckeye Central players hit double figures led by Jacob shade’s 24 points. Grant Loy added 14 and Warren Wechter 10.
Robinson paced Bucyrus with 14 points and Carr added 10.
Colonel Crawford overcame a slow start at the offensive end Saturday evening and kept the defensive pressure up all evening to take out Plymouth in a non-conference boys basketball game, 56-38.
The Eagles are now 15-5 with a key double weekend in the N-10 coming up.
Colonel Crawford trailed 10-8 after the first quarter, but led a low-scoring first half 19-17 at the break before breaking away in the third frame.
Hayden Bute led all scorers with 17 points. Brody Martin had 15 points and Owen Adams had 14.
Three Plymouth players had six points each.
In other boys games in the N-10 on Saturday, Carey topped Ridgedale 64-55, Upper Sandusky downed Mohawk 64-52, and Wynford edged Seneca East by the final of 58-53.
In girls action it was Buckeye Central over Wynford by a final of 64-48, Liberty-Benton over Carey 51-45, Upper Sandusky holding off Colonel Crawford 60-51, and Bucyrus over Ridgedale, 73-33.
