The Galion swim team finished their regular season with duel meet victories over Marion Harding and Wynford high schools.
The Tiger men’s team finished the season with 9 wins and 2 losses. The Lady Tigers finished their season with 6 wins and 5 losses.
Double winners for the men tigers were: Sam Rigdon won the 200 IM and 100 freestyle, Eli Skaggs won the 50 free and 100 fly, Luke Eisenaugle won the 100 backstroke and 100 breast stroke. Landon Rose won the 200 freestyle. Clay Karnes won the 500 freestyle and was 2nd in the 100 yd. butterfly. Lucas Conner was 2nd in the 500 freestyle. Freshman, Weston Rose was 2nd in the 100 freestyle, swimming to a season best time of 59.70. The team of Eli Skaggs, Sam Rigdon, Clay Karnes, and Luke Eisnaugle won the 200 Medley Relay. In the 200 free relay, Luke Eisnaugle, Landon Rose, Lucas Conner, and Eli Skaggs were victorious. Clay Karnes, Landon Rose, Luca Conner and Sam Rigdon won the 400 free relay. Galion won the boys meet 61-29 and was victorious over Wynford 71-6.
The Lady Tigers won 10 of 11 events. Double winners were: Bri Wallis in the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle, Allison DeNero in the 200 IM and 100 yard. butterfly, Sari Conner in the 500 free and 100 yard. breast stroke. Elise Barnhart won the 50 yard. freestyle. Ashleigh Wright was second in the 500 freestyle with a season best of 7:20.14 and 100 backstroke in 1:19.99. Dannielle Schneider swam to a second place finish in the 200 free with a season best time of 3:09.43. Bri Streib swam to a second place finish int he 100 free in a season best time of 1:15.70. The 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay team, Bri Wallis, Sari Conner, Allison DeNero, and Elise Barnhart were victorious. The 400 free relay team of Ashleigh Wright, Sara Garverick, Bri Streib, and Megan Kostelnik were winners.
“I was happy the way the swimmers finished their season after coming off their championship this weekend. The regular season ending victories have put us in a championship mode for the sectionals and districts. Swimmers will compete in the sectionals at Mansfield Malabar on February 13, 2016 and qualify for the Districts on February 19 at Bowling Green University,” Galion swim coach Ted Temple said.
