MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Authorities have identified a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant following a stabbing on North McElroy Road Wednesday afternoon that left one person hospitalized.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office named 34-year-old Zachary Michael Zeiter as the suspect in the felonious assault. Zeiter remains at large and is considered dangerous, according to a news release from Major Jim Sweat.

Deputies responded to the scene Wednesday afternoon where they located a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was initially taken to a local hospital before being flown by medical helicopter to a Cleveland-area facility. As of Wednesday evening, the victim was reported to be in stable condition.

Sheriff J. Steve Sheldon’s office has officially charged Zeiter with felonious assault. Investigators are actively seeking his whereabouts.

Zeiter is described as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 195 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
