A leaky roof moved Monday’s Colonel Crawford-Ridgedale boys basketball game from Morral to North Robinson, but the Rockets played as though they still had the home court advantage. Ridgedale led after each of first three quarter breaks, only to fall victim to a 30-point, fourth quarter barrage by the Eagles.
Colonel Crawford survived the scare, 64-55, to move to 5-0 in N-10 play and 7-1 overall. Ridgedale is now 3-4 and 1-4.
Five players scored for the Eagles in the final frame, led by Derek Burkhart’s 11 points in the period. Owen Adams led the game scoring for the Eagles with 17 points. Brody Martin had 16, Burkhart finished with 13 and Harley Shaum got into double figures with 10.
The Rockets were led by Moe Britton’s 27 points that included four triples. Britton’s father, Bob, was a Colonel Crawford sharpshooter in his playing days. Preston Burton added 15 for Ridgedale and Alex Eldred had 11.
