BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Unger Park Post Acute is boosting its community engagement with a series of new events and health initiatives, according to facility representatives Erica Lasky and Katie Algier.
Starting in November, Unger Park will launch its first monthly community drive-through meal for seniors age 55 and over. The first meal is set for November 18 from 4 to 5 p.m. Seniors must RSVP by November 10th, and the first 100 individuals to sign up will receive a free meal. The program is slated to be offered monthly moving forward.
In December, the facility plans to host a holiday-themed community bingo event.
Unger Park is also partnering with the Area Agency on Aging to train and host the evidence-based “Matter of Balance” program. This six- to eight-week commitment of two-hour weekly sessions teaches seniors how to manage their fear of falling through chair exercises and educational resources. Classes will be held at Unger Park and various venues across Crawford County. Interested individuals should call Unger Park Post Acute to sign up.
