BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Wynford Local School District Board of Education released a statement clarifying its official stance on the proposed solar project in the community.

The statement, issued on behalf of the board and signed by Forest Trisler, Superintendent of Wynford Schools, addresses community divisions over the controversial project.

According to the statement, the school board and district leadership acknowledge the strong opinions on both sides of the issue.

The letter emphasizes that supporters and opponents of the project are both part of the Wynford Schools community.

The board’s position is that the solar project is not an appropriate matter for school involvement.
Instead, the statement categorizes it as a “landowner issue” that should be resolved at the township or county level, or by a public vote on a ballot.

The Wynford Local School District and its board of education officially stated that they neither support nor oppose the solar project.

The statement reiterated that it is not appropriate for the board or the district to be influenced by either side, or to try and sway others toward a particular viewpoint.

The district concluded the communication by asking for the community’s understanding of its neutral position on the matter.
