BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Bucyrus City Schools Summer Community Musical is set to bring the deviously delicious “Little Shop of Horrors” to the Bucyrus Elementary Auditorium for three performances this weekend.
Audiences can experience the Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical on Friday, June 27, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, June 28, at 7:30 p.m., and a matinee performance on Sunday, June 29, at 2:30 p.m.
“Little Shop of Horrors,” a creation of the acclaimed Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (known for Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Aladdin”), has captivated theatre-goers for over 30 years with its unique blend of humor, horror, and catchy R&B-infused songs.
The story follows Seymour Krelborn, a meek floral assistant who discovers a mysterious new plant. He names it “Audrey II” after his coworker crush. This R&B-singing carnivore promises Seymour unending fame and fortune, but only if he continues to feed it blood. As Audrey II grows, Seymour uncovers its extraterrestrial origins and its sinister plan for global domination.
Tickets for all performances are $15 and will be available at the door prior to each show. For advance ticket inquiries, please call 419-617-1201.
