In the final week of the regular season Wynford was on cruise control as they claimed their eighteenth straight Copper Kettle and second straight N-10 Championship by defeating Bucyrus 56-7.
Wynford started the scoring barrage early on in the game when Zack Hoffman connected with Tony Watson for a 67 yard bomb to put the Royals up 7-0 at 9:53 in the first quarter. Wynford’s onslaught continued throughout the first half scoring on their next seven drives to take a 56-0 lead in the half.
Bucyrus’ lone score came with 2:25 to go in the game when Damon Parsell completed a 10 yard touchdown pass to Clinton Carr.
Each of Hoffman’s completed passes resulted in a touchdown for Wynford as Hoffman went 4 of 6 for 137 yards and four touchdowns. Nick Looker led the Royals on the ground with 112 yards on eight attempts for two scores, and Watson led Wynford receivers with two receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns.
Wynford is predicted to play Delta at home next Saturday in the opening round of the state football playoffs.

The Buckeye Central Bucks saw their playoff hopes disappear as they were downed by Mohawk Warriors 48-18.
The Warriors attempted one pass the entire game, which resulted in an interception by the Bucks’ Scott Heydinger.
The Warriors were led on the ground by Trevor Zender who amassed 279 yards on 28 attempts for three touchdowns.
Buckeye Central quarterback Grant Loy completed 13 of 25 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns. Brice Brenneman was BC’s go to receiver as he hauled in eight catches for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

In other action around the county Colonel Crawford defeated Cary 49-14. The Eagles are predicted to play Van Buren at home next Saturday in their opening round of the playoffs. Galion defeated Pleasant 42-6 and are expected to play Milan Edison at Milan Edison in their opening round next Friday night. Crestline’s final game will be played against Ashtabula St. John at 1:30 p.m. on October 31 in Geneva, Ohio.
