BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Get ready to learn with a beat! Bucyrus Little Theatre will present “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” running June 6-9 and June 13-15, 2025.

The high-energy musical brings the Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series to the stage, teaching history, grammar, math and more through familiar, catchy songs.

Directed by Martha Tidball with music direction by Rick Walker, the production features a cast including Mary Hart, Jayda Robison, Patty Schwall, Walker, Tidball, and Abigail Kanellakis. The theater says the show follows the journey of a nervous newcomer becoming a confident teacher.

Bucyrus Little Theatre, a community theater at 130 Songer Avenue, has been part of the local arts scene since 1953.

“Schoolhouse Rock Live!” is based on the series created by George Newall and Tom Yohe, based on an idea by David McCall. It was originally adapted and produced for the stage by Theatre BAM with a book by Scott Ferguson, George Keating, and Kyle Hall, and music and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, Bob Dorough, Dave Frishberg, Kathy Mandry, George Newall, and Tom Yohe. The production is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
