WAYNESVILLE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio Renaissance Festival has been recognized as the second-best Renaissance fair in the United States, according to the USA TODAY 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards, the festival announced Thursday.

The accolade highlights the festival’s commitment to providing an immersive 16th-century experience for its visitors. Situated in a 30-acre recreation of an English village from that era, the Ohio Renaissance Festival offers a wide array of attractions, including over 100 daily shows featuring dueling swordsmen, fire jugglers, and jousting in full armor.

Visitors can also explore more than 200 unique arts and crafts shops showcasing handcrafted items and demonstrations of traditional skills. Food options include popular items like giant roasted turkey legs and bread bowl stews.

The festival, which runs each weekend from August 30 through October 26, 2025, features a different theme each weekend to enhance the visitor experience. Upcoming themes include Fantasy Weekend, Pirates Weekend, and Highland Weekend.

“Being recognized by USA TODAY as the second-best Renaissance fair in the nation is a tremendous honor,” said a spokesperson for the Ohio Renaissance Festival. “We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated staff, talented performers, skilled artisans, and, most importantly, our loyal patrons who make this festival a cherished tradition year after year.”

Operating since 1990, the Ohio Renaissance Festival has become a community staple and a significant destination for family-friendly entertainment and cultural enrichment.
