MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The historic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, was once again the epicenter of rock and metal music, tattoos, and haunted attractions, as it hosted the fourth consecutive sold-out edition of the Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival from July 19-21, 2024. The event welcomed 75,000 music fans over three days, generating more than $10 million in economic impact for the area and a total of over $50 million since its inception in 2018.
The festival featured three stages of non-stop music, over 100 tattoo artists, Blood Prison Tours, and walkthroughs of the famous Ohio State Reformatory, known for being the filming location for the Shawshank Redemption. Headliners included Shinedown, Godsmack, and Breaking Benjamin, with the latter inviting a special guest, Benjamin Jackson Burnley V, the young son of lead singer and guitarist Benjamin Burnley, on stage.
Exclusive performances were offered by Halestorm and I Prevail, with Lzzy Hale and Eric Vanlerberghe guesting in each other’s sets for their hit track, “Can U See Me In The Dark?” Metal band Chimaira made their first U.S. festival appearance in 14 years, and All Shall Perish played one of only two reunion shows. Other blistering performances were delivered by The Offspring, Bad Omens, Parkway Drive, Chevelle, Dropkick Murphys, Sleeping With Sirens, Killswitch Engage, Hollywood Undead, Machine Head, Sevendust, and Of Mice & Men.
The festival was co-produced by Danny Wimmer Presents, one of the largest independent producers of destination music festivals in America, and Reinkcarceration LLC, a partnership that formed with the original founders of INK in 2021.
