BUCYRUS—Bucyrus Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop early Friday morning at approximately 12:44 am in the area of 924 Maple Street for a moving violation. K9 Capone was requested to assist with a sniff of the vehicle and a positive indication to the odor of narcotics was observed. The vehicle was then searched and officers located drug paraphernalia.
Further investigation led officers to believe that the garage at the residence contained a large amount of illegal narcotics. A resident gave consent for K9 Capone to conduct a sniff of the garage door area of the structure and a positive indication to the odor of narcotics was observed.
BPD Detectives were then contacted and a search warrant was obtained for the garage at the location. During the search of the garage, officers discovered approximately 171 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
As a result, John Mullins Jr., 46, of Bucyrus, was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held on multiple felony drug charges.
BPD Officers and the K9 Unit were praised for their successful operation.
