The Crestline Public Library has been doing a little spring cleaning and that means stories galore are soon to be available for readers.
The library will be having its spring book sale this Thursday through Saturday and all proceeds from the sale will benefit the library’s summer reading programs.
“It helps me buy food, prizes, decorations, craft supplies if I need them,” explained Lynn Altstadt, the library’s children’s program director. “That’s what I use all that money for.”
The Crestline Public Library is always busy during the summer months with a variety of programs for children, teens, and adults. Altstadt said they also hold a number of special events throughout the year, like their recent Dr. Seuss Day and the upcoming Insurgent Party on March 19 where visitors can watch the movie Divergent, play trivia games, and make a craft.
The library usually holds book sales twice a year but Altstadt said they didn’t have enough inventory for a sale last year. Thanks to donations and a weeding out of the library’s own book collection, however, Altstadt has plenty of books available this time around.
“I waited until spring,” said Altstadt, who is in charge of handling the book sale. “This is the first one we’ve had for a while.”
Altstadt said they will have a little bit of everything at the book sale from new to gently used to former library books. They will also span a range of genres, including juvenile, young adult, adult fiction, and non-fiction as well as large print, books on CDs, and DVDs.
The book sale will be going on during library hours during those three days. Those hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
