The Wynford Lady Royals turned up the heat in the last period to finalize their win against the Buckettes Friday night.
The Lady Royals traveled to New Washington to take on their division foe. The Buckettes kept the Lady Royals running right from the start as they scored the first points of the game. Wynford maintained a small lead throughout the first half of the game and went into halftime with a five point lead.
Buckeye Central battled back in the third to tie it up at one point but Wynford went on a 15-4 run before ending the game 52-37.
Ellie Richmond and Alyssa Harrer both scored 15 points for Wynford while Haley Green hit 11 and Hailey Hildebrand scored 10 for the Buckettes.
Wynford, now 12-8 (11-6 N10), will play host to rival Bucyrus on Feb. 17. Buckeye Central is now 8-12 (6-11 N10) and will play Mohawk at home on Feb. 17.

Buckeye Central won a nail biter of a JV game. They held off Wynford in the final seconds to win 38-34. Double digits scorers for the game were Buckeye Central’s Kattie Keppler (20) and Wynford’s Tara Zinser (12).
In other N10 girls basketball action, Bucyrus defeated Ridgedale 54-32. Bucyrus’ Kelci Simms scored a game high 18 points. Colonel Crawford fell to Upper Sandusky 58-31.

The Galion boys basketball team defeated North Union 63-54. They are now 8-11 (6-6 MOAC).
