There was a point in time where the citizens of Bucyrus had respect for Mayor Reser. He must have forgotten how the citizens prayed for him, sent cards to him and cheered him on when he was battling his cancer.
He must have forgotten how happy the people were to see him back at work. HE MUST HAVE FORGOTTEN!
Mayor Reser got greedy. The people didn’t matter anymore. What we thought and what we wanted meant nothing. It became all about him and a legacy. NOTHING MORE AND NOTHING LESS.
Reser became arrogant in his manner of behavior. His inner being changed, HE CHANGED.
Reser don’t have the following that he once had. It took some time for the citizens to see and feel that he abandoned us for the good of a legacy.
Now, he has his legacy he wanted at the cost of the citizens who once prayed for his health.
Bucyrus is a lonely place to live. The mayor should have thought of the kids when he was introducing his dream parks. He forgot about the customers that patroned his business.
When you look around at Bucyrus since Reser has become Mayor, what is the greatest accomplishment that you see?
Jeff Reser is leaving his seat and along with that he has left a mess for the citizens to pay for. A mess for the next mayor to repair.
We should be living in a town where we can all come together in showing pride in our city. Where businesses are happy to give. Where citizens are happy to volunteer.
I think of Bellville and the mayor. It amazes me how the people care for that village. They come together with pride, generosity and the love of their town.
Bucyrus could take some lessons from the Mayor in Bellville. Always something new, businesses opening, events that attract people to come visit the village.
Oh well, one can dream!
