Mansfield, Ohio – North Central State College will offer courses in Chinese Culture for adults, and Chinese Language for students age 10 to 14.
Chinese Culture will be offered on Tuesday evenings for four weeks beginning on March 3, concluding on March 31. Classes will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in room 127 of the Fallerius Technical Education Center on the main campus of NC State. Students will learn about Chinese history, tai chi, tea culture, calligraphy, art, culinary traditions, folklore and the geography of China.
Chinese Language for Ages 10 to 14 will be offered on Saturdays for four weeks beginning on April 4, concluding on April 25. Classes will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. in room 127 of the Fallerius Technical Education Center on the main campus of NC State. Students will learn to write Chinese characters and express basic greetings.
Professor Na Wang is a visiting Chinese instructor from Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao, Hebei, PRC who will be teaching at North Central State College through 2016. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Master of Arts in English Linguistics & Literature. She has held numerous positions at Yanshan University where she currently is a Lecturer in the English Department of the School of Foreign languages.
She has written numerous books and articles, and received multiple teaching awards from Yanshan University.
