The Galion boys swim team dominated the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championships this past weekend at Marion YMCA. A combined boys and girls team score also led the Tigers to take the meet.
The boys swim team dominated the meet, handily beating out second place Mt. Gilead by nearly 100 points.
The boys swim team took home first place in the following races:
- 200 Yard Medley Relay (Chad Karnes, Sam DeNero, Luke Eisnaugle, and Sam Rigdon; 1:49:83),
- 200 Yard Freestyle (Chad Karnes, 1:53:50),
- 200 Yard IM (Sam Rigdon, 2:21:37; second place to Lucas Conner, 2:32:13),
- 50 Yard Freestyle (Sam DeNero, 22:42),
- 100 Yard Butterfly (Sam DeNero, 57:11; second place to Sam Rigdon, 1:02:63),
- 100 Yard Freestyle (Chad Karnes, 50:69; third place to Landon Rose, 58:19),
- 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (Sam DeNero, Luke Eisnaugle, Sam Rigdon, and Chad Karnes, 1:37:56), and
- 400 Yard Freestyle Relay (Lucas Conner, Landon Rose, John Finch, and Evan Zumbro, 4:01:62).

The Galion girls swim team came in second at the championship meet, falling just short of Marion Pleasant by a score of 386-385. Kennedy Gregg placed first in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:07:11. The girls swim team placed second in the 200 Yard Medley Relay, 50 Yard Free, 100 Yard Butterfly, 100 Yard Freestyle, 500 Yard Freestyle, 200 Yard Free Relay, and 400 Yard Free Relay.
