The Galion City School District and Come Home to Galion committee are proud to announce the winners in the annual “Come Home to Galion” coloring contest. Six students from Galion Primary School, two from each grade level kindergarten through second grade, were selected as winners.

The Come Home to Galion committee selected a picture for students at the Galion Primary School to color and enter into the contest. The picture was distributed and students were encouraged to enter in the voluntary competition.

“We are happy the Primary School students are eager each year to participate in the annual Come Home to Galion celebration,” committee member Sandy Powell said. “We receive many wonderful entries for this contest and it is a challenge to select the winners every year.”

Students selected as winners in the 2014 contest include Kendall Kronick (kindergarten), Wyatt Williams (kindergarten), Adalie Flick (1st grade), Abigail Geary (1st grade), Caitlyn Letner (2nd grade) and Sarah Peoples (2nd grade).

“Every year, our students are really excited to enter this coloring contest,” Primary School Principal Cindy Voss said. “This is a great way to get the students involved in the community and I appreciate the Come Home to Galion committee giving our students the opportunity to participate.”

Student winners rode on a horse drawn carriage with their parents during the Come Home to Galion parade Dec. 5, and Kendall Kronick was the lucky student drawn at random to light the Galion Christmas tree on display in the Uptowne Square.
