Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Craig B. Overly has been selected 2014 Trooper of the Year at the Bucyrus post.
The selection of Trooper Overly, age 26, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2014 at the Bucyrus post. Fellow officers stationed at the Bucyrus post, chose Trooper Overly based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public.
Trooper Overly is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.
Trooper Overly joined the Highway Patrol in 2011 and has served at the Bucyrus post throughout his career. Originally from Mt. Victory and a graduate of Ridgemont High School, Trooper Overly attended the Ohio State University Marion Campus. Other Highway Patrol awards received in the past include: 2013 Bucyrus Post Trooper of the Year, Physical Fitness Award, and Safe Driving Award.
Trooper Overly and spouse, Bethanie, live in Mt. Victory with their children: Aubrie, age 5, and Trenton, age 3.
