Despite being in its 156 year, the Crawford County Fair is still finding new ways to entertain its patrons.
Elizabeth Pritchard explained, “This year we have three new events at the Grandstands on Monday July 15 at 7 P.M. we will be having a Figure 8 School Bus Race on Monday July 15 at 7 P.M. which will cost attendees $5. We will also be having a Lawn Mower Demolition derby during the regular Demolition Derby on Sunday at 6.”
Pritchard continued, “On Tuesday the Ohio Idol contest will take place in the Grandstands at 7:30. This is in conjunction with many of the fairs statewide this year.”
On Thursday at 7:30 the Fair Jam will take place featuring local Christian group Sidewalk Prophets with Unspoken opening.
A few of the events at the Grandstands will be switched around this year. The Tractor Pull, which usually closes the opening night of the fair, will move from Sunday to Friday. The Demolition Derby, which usually closes the Crawford County Fair, will take the Tractor Pull’s place closing the opening the night of the fair.
In between the Merchant Building and the Antique Tractor the Wild World of Animals will be on display during the course of the fair.
New food to this year’s Crawford County Fair will feature a Stromboli food cart, and Porky’s Pork Island Pork Rinds.
Rides will be provided by D&R Shows. This will be the first year they have operated at the fair.
