The 15-year-old rural Bucyrus girl missing nearly two weeks was found Monday afternoon thanks to a lead developed over the weekend.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office says at approximately 4:05 p.m. Monday, FBI agents reported they had found Rebecca “Beccy” Kemper at 146 South Main Street, Apt. 1, in Mansfield. The missing girl is safe, uninjured, and has been reunited with her mother, Heather Todd.

While the Sheriff’s Office did not report on any other circumstances surrounding the Kemper girl’s disappearance or finding her, it did say the investigation would continue.

Beccy disappeared from her home on Crestline Road just outside of Bucyrus late the night of Sept. 23. The Sheriff’s Office was contacted within minutes, just after midnight Sept. 24, of when her family found her missing. At that time bloodhounds were brought in to aid in the search and investigation but without success.

In addition to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, city police departments from Bucyrus, Galion and Marion, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI were all involved in the investigation.
