The faces may mostly be the same at the Bucyrus Bureau of Motor Vehicles office on Marion Road, but they have been working for a new face for more than a month. Christine Eller is now the deputy registrar at the office and took over as the sole proprietor on June 30.

“I kept all the ladies already here,” Eller said at a ribbon cutting celebrating her taking the reins of the office at 1653 Marion Road. The ribbon cutting came courtesy of the Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce.

State Registrar Mike Rankin was one of a host of state and regional officials from the BMV on hand for the ribbon cutting. Rankin said just this past April Ohio was voted number one in the nation for customer service satisfaction.

Eller said it is her intention to live up to that standard and the reputation for service in place at the Bucyrus office.

“We want to add more services,” Eller said. “We’ll be bringing back watercraft (registrations) again. This is a one-stop shop”

Although this is Eller’s first sole proprietorship, she does have experience with the BMV and retail experience.

“I came from Marysville (BMV). I had five years’ experience there,” Eller said. “This is my first business. I hope to be here every day.”

Office hours at the Bucyrus BMV are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 8 to 2 on Saturdays. The phone number is 419-563-2210.

Eller noted that the State of Ohio has also reopened its driver’s license exam office next door.
