BUCYRUS—As CEO of Waycraft Industries, Vince Ponziani has always encouraged the individuals who work for him to fight for the life they want to live and now he is taking his own advice.

He has been fighting for his life since July of 2020 when he was diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer.

“He is very weak and tired, but he is a fighter. He does as much as he can on the weeks he doesn’t have chemo but the weeks he has chemo, it hits him hard and there are a lot of side effects,” said Vince’s wife, Kimberly.

She said her husband, who is a father and grandfather, is currently still working at his position at Waycraft and that his prognosis is good.

“He went through chemo and radiation and also had surgery. He is now doing chemo again,” said Kimberly. “He tells his individuals to fight, so that’s what he has to do.”

Waycraft’s plant manager Keith Vinson along with several others are bringing the community together for Vince with a benefit to help pay his medical expenses and to show community support.

The event is scheduled for April 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Waycraft Industries, located at 118 River St., in Bucyrus. There will be plenty of food, a silent auction, bake sale, 50/50 raffle, door prizes, music, face painting, and more. Everyone should wear blue for colorectal cancer awareness.

“I am humbled and grateful for all the support,” said Vince.
