CRESTLINE—On Monday evening, the Crestline Exempted Village School District held their monthly meeting.
Mrs. Anatra, board member and the community relations representative, informed everyone that there will be no voting polls at the school for the upcoming election.
Mr. Henderson, the school’s superintendent, informed the board that per Governor DeWine’s request for school districts, the school will partner with the area health department to offer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to students sixteen years and older.
The vaccine dates will be Monday, April 19, and Wednesday, April 21. It is not mandated for students, but they can get the vaccine if they wish with a parent or guardian’s permission.
Prom will be held on May 1 at The Hub in the uptown area. There will be a grand march and masks will be required.
Graduation is Friday, May 28, and weather permitting, will be held at Hutson Stadium. Any further details will be released by the school when the time comes.
On May 13, there will be the opportunity for community service for Crestline students and Crestline St. Joe’s students with a park cleanup day.
The school is looking into partnering with health departments of Western Ohio to provide school-based dental services for students who need that. It would be no charge, no out-of-pocket cost for families.
With one-year contracts, the district hired Austin Strouse as an Industrial Technology teacher, Samantha Mowry as a middle school science teacher, and Courtney Hicks as the Spanish teacher.
The board accepted the resignation of Kyle Strauch as the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach. Strauch is still coaching track and teaching at the school.
The next board of education meeting is May 10 at 7 p.m.
