Crawford County’s unemployment rate went up in June according to the latest figures released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

According to that report, the county’s jobless figure was 6.3 percent in June compared to 5.8 percent in May. In spite of the increase the unemployment rate is quite an improvement over a year ago when the unemployment rate in Crawford County was 9.1 percent.

Out of a workforce of approximately 19,700, 18,400 in the county are working.

By comparison, Richland County’s unemployment rate is 6.2 percent while Wyandot County has the best in the immediate area at 4.7. Huron County is the highest at 6.7.
