BUCYRUS — Communities around the state joined together to acknowledge the students in the high school class of 2020.
The movement is in the midst of school buildings being closed and events such as athletics, school musicals, prom and graduation ceremonies being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All six public school districts in Crawford County as well as nearby communities such as Upper Sandusky participated in the event to light up the night sky with the lights at their respective football stadiums for 20 minutes and 20 seconds at 8:20 p.m., which in military time is represented by 20:20.
Some communities included parades and processionals as other forms of community involvement and support, as wells as turning on porch lights for the same duration.
