The end of the school year is so close students can almost taste it, so it must have come as a bit of surprise when Wayside Christian School closed Wednesday.
Principal Rob Knepp reported Thursday that Wayside Christian had closed the previous day after lightning hit the school. Very little damage was sustained though the lightning did burn off the main shut-offs and knock out a few telephones, computers, and lights.
The school reopened on Thursday.
