Hundreds of young children enjoyed the fruits of labor of the young at heart Saturday morning during the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Aumiller Park.

There were more than 6,000 pastel colored eggs “hidden” in plain site just there for the taking. Before the mad dash for the brightly colored eggs could commence Bucyrus Mayor Roger Moore reminded people to thank those at the area nursing homes for peeling all of the eggs. Some of the eggs contained candy and others were loaded with a ticket for a prize that could be claimed

“Well we had really fun, we were only allowed to have 30 eggs and actually I got over 30 eggs,” young Mary said.

One of her hunting partners, Shania Grayson, quickly added, “We got a lot.”

Ceirra Thoroughman was babysitting and brought two cute little girls.

“They spent the night at my house and we decided to go out to Aumiller because my aunt and their moms work at Wal-Mart,” Thoroughman said. “We all came out here, we hunt Easter Eggs, and brother’s over there having fun, cousins are out running around. They found eggs, they don’t know when to stop. They got a bunch of eggs, they got like 30 eggs. They don’t know how many.”

Crawford County Now’s Krystal Smalley was on hand as well, not to hunt eggs, but to take photograph’s of the event. Those pictures are in a photo gallery available online on the photo page at www.crawfordcountynow.com.
