One man’s prison stay just got a little longer.
Thirty-year-old Kristopher Davidson appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Tuesday afternoon to deal with his community control violations. Davidson had been on judicial release in Crawford County since April of 2013 but earlier this year he became a wanted fugitive in Wyandot County for trafficking in heroin.
Davidson was arrested on April 29 by U.S. Marshals and was sent to prison on his Wyandot County charges on Aug. 14.
While in Common Pleas Court Tuesday, Davidson admitted to violations submitted by his parole officer earlier this April, which included admitting to using drugs, testing positive for numerous drugs, and failing to report to his supervising officer. Judge Russell Wiseman ordered Davidson to serve the remaining three years on his original four-year prison sentence. The prison time will be served consecutively with the Wyandot County case.
Davidson had originally pleaded guilty to trafficking in drugs, having weapons under disability, and receiving stolen property in 2012 and had served one year on his four-year prison sentence.
A Galion man avoided prison time following his guilty plea to a multi-count indictment for child porn charges, but he will remain in custody for a while. Fifty-year-old Richard Brown pleaded guilty to one count of pandering sexually oriented material involving minors and four counts of possession of child pornography Tuesday in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.
All five charges are fourth-degree felonies. Brown was originally charged with 16 counts of second-degree felony charges. The events in question occurred in April and May of 2012. The Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office inherited the case from federal prosecutors.
As part of Brown’s plea agreement, he was sentenced to five years of community control with the stipulation he must successfully complete a Volunteers of America in-patient treatment program for sex offenders. Brown will remain in custody of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office until he is transported to the VOA program.
Brown will also be considered a Tier II sex offender meaning he will have to report to the sheriff in his county of residence every 180 days for 25 years.
Should Brown fail to successfully complete his term of community control he is subject to five 18-month prison terms that will be served consecutively.
Eighteen-year-old Mikel Knetter Jr. pleaded guilty to a third-degree felony burglary charge. The Crestline man admitted to trespassing in an occupied structure with the purpose to commit a theft offense on Aug. 4.
Knetter was placed on community control for five years with the special condition that he completes a drug and alcohol assessment and any follow up treatment. Knetter must also pay a $2,000 fine and $1,835 in restitution to the victim.
Thirty-two-year-old Jamie Hall pleaded guilty to possessing drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He admitted to having heroin in his possession on Aug. 1.
The Bucyrus man will serve five years on community control with the condition that he completes a drug and alcohol assessment and any follow up treatment. His driver’s license was suspended for six months and he must pay a $1,250 mandatory drug fine. Hall was also ordered to forfeit any drug-related property being held by the Bucyrus Police Department. He will be placed on the county’s drug court program upon approval for entrance.
Twenty-four-year-old Zachariah Spade pleaded guilty to the illegal use of food stamps, a felony five conviction. The Crestline man admitted to having food stamps that did not belong to him on Feb. 21.
Spade was placed on community control for one year and ordered to pay a $750 fine. A theft charge had been dismissed as part of his agreement.
