The Wynford Royals football season came to a close Friday night in the Regional final after they were defeated by 17-0 by the Defiance Tinora Rams.

Turnovers played a key part in the game as Wynford turned the ball over 5 times on the way to a shutout loss.

Tinora struck for the first time with 11:09 to go in the second quarter on a 7 play 57 yard drive that resulted in a 31 yard field goal from Rams kicker Josh Camp to put his team up over the Royals 3 to 0.

Wynford football 16Tinora took a 10 to 0 lead into the half after score on a 10 yard Riley Nagel touchdown with 1:17 to go in the second.

The Rams finished out their scoring with 9:24 in the third quarter on a 25 yard touchdown run by T.J. Gares that capped off a 6 play 67 yard drive. After the Camp PAT the Rams led 17 to 0.

Nagel led the Rams on the ground with 139 yards on 22 carries for a score.

Keaton Teynor led the Royals offense in rushing and passing. Teynor went 11 of 24 for 113 yards through the air with 3 interceptions. On the ground Teynor went 66 yards on 22 carries.

With the loss Wynford finishes their season with an 11-2 record.
