The Wynford volleyball team continued its improved play of late on Thursday, but that wasn’t enough to keep Carey from claiming an N10 win in four sets. The Lady Royals’ rally came up short – 5-25, 17-25, 25-20 and 15-25.
With the loss, Wynford’s record is now 4-8 in N10 action and 6-12 overall. Carey stays tied for second in the N10 with a league mark of 9-3 and overall record of 12-5.
Gabby Grove and Tara Zinser shared honors as top hitters for Wynford with six kills each. Olivia Grove and Lainey Hoffman each had four blocks.
Eleni Smock and Jenna Coffman each had two aces while at the service line. Bailey Alspach led the defense with 18 digs and Coffman passed out 17 assists.
Wynford will be out of action until Tuesday when the Lady Royals travel to Mohawk.
