Wynford wasn’t able to derail the freight train that Seneca East has become, then again neither has anyone else in the N10.
The Tigers defeated Wynford 5-0 scoring two runs in the first inning, one run in the third, and two runs in the fifth in Friday’s game.
Danny Bowerman went the distance for the win giving up three hits while fanning two Royals for strikeouts.
The Tigers got four hits from Matt Daniel including a double. Both Zach Aichholz and Bo Smith had a single as well as RBI doubles.
Wynford’s hits belonged to Jalen Brown and Brandon Shutler, who both had a single, and Thad Hensel who hit a double.
Brown started for the Royals, going four innings for Wynford in the loss. Caleb Stone pitched three innings of relief.
With the victory the Tigers remain undefeated in league play at 12-0 with a 17-2 record. The Royals fall to 5-5 in league play and 6-10 overall.
On the softball side Seneca East picked up the victory as well over the Lady Royals by a score of 9-3.
The Galion Tigers picked up a victory on the baseball diamond over North Union 3-2. The game was called in the top of the seventh inning due to weather and darkness.
