Buckeye Central’s season came to an end Friday night at the Division IV District Championship Game at Willard High School falling to top seed Plymouth 62-37.
With the game tied at 5, the Big Red outscored the Bucks 14-6 to lead by 8 after the first period and never trailed again on the way to their 25th win of the year with just one loss. Plymouth’s Tyler Edmiston led the way with 24 points and teammate Tyson Beebe had 5 threes on his way to 19 points.
Buckeye Central finishes the season at 17-8 and said goodbye to seniors Austin Wurm, Cole Stacklin, Ray Stahl and Seth Ollis. Wurm led the Bucks with 13 points and Grant Loy added 11.
Plymouth advances to regional play starting Tuesday at Bowling Green State University.
