Colonel Crawford’s Sydney Studer pitched a 4 hit shutout and the Lady Eagles scored 4 times in the sixth inning to defeat Margaretta 4-0 last night at the division 3 district semifinal’s played at Lexington High School.
Studer struck out 12 and didn’t walk a batter as the Lady Eagles won for the 23rd time this season and advanced to Friday nights district championship game.
The Lady Bears Lydia Harris held Colonel Crawford to two hits thru the first five innings. In the sixth, the first 5 Lady Eagles reached base with Karissa Rawlinson, and Alexus Burkhart singling. Jada Klingenberger’s base hit drove in the first run of the game. Burkhart scored on a wild pitch before Lexi Hoepf walked with Sydney Studer was safe on a fielder’s choice driving in a run. The fourth run of the inning scored on a sacrifice fly by Abbie Bradshaw.
Colonel Crawford will face Edison Friday at 5 at Lexington High School for the district championship.
