NORTH ROBINSON — Three softball players, nine baseball players and a coach from area schools were named to All-Ohio teams for the spring sports season by a vote of the respective coaches’ associations.

Colonel Crawford pitcher Sydney Studer was selected to first team Division III. A senior, Studer was 16-6 with 189 strikeouts and a 2.13 earned run average. The Eagles finished 19-7 overall.

Carey’s Hailey Niederkohr was named to the Division IV first team. Niederkohr, only a sophomore, helped lead the Blue Devils to a co-championship in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference by leading the league with a .556 batting average, while hammering four home runs, six triples and seven doubles.

Blayc Hacker of Carey was selected to the Division IV second team as a pitcher. Hacker was 14-3 with 153 strikeouts in 141 innings pitched.

Wyatt Smith and Caleb Stone were given honorable mention in the Division III boys all-Ohio team. Smith was 7-2 on the mound with a 2.31 ERA. At the plate, Smith hit .365 with a .481 on-base percentage.

Stone was the Royals’ top hitter, finishing with a .510 average, 27 runs batted in and a .512 slugging percentage, all team highs. The duo led Wynford to the Division III district final game at Shelby.

Carey pitcher Trey Bame made first team Division III. Bame was 11-0 with a sparkling 1.06 ERA, recording 100 strikeouts in just 66 innings. The Blue Devils finished 23-2, 15-1 in the N10, good for a co-championship with Seneca East.

In addition, Carey coach Joey Roark was the Division III Coach of the Year.

Division IV second team honorees included pitcher Bo Smith and Jacob Webb of Seneca East. Honorable mention went to Buckeye Central pitcher Josh Dentinger, Rickie Lacy of Seneca East and Easton Roark and Brayden Wentling of Carey.
