The fourth quarter at St. Peter’s Thursday night did in the Buckeye Central Bucks who lost to the Spartans in a boys’ independent basketball game, 57-47.
Tied at the half and again after three periods, the Bucks’ couldn’t keep up with their hosts in the final quarter. Advantages at the free throw line and bench scoring for St. Peter’s proved to be the difference.
The Bucks, now 2-2 on the season, were led in scoring by Jacob Shade with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Grant Loy put up a dozen points and grabbed six boards to go with three steals and a blocked shot.
St. Peter’s had three players reach double figures: Mason Campbell with 15, Jared Jakubic with 11 and Kyle Osgar with 10.
The Bucks will be in action next on Saturday night in an N-10 contest at Upper Sandusky.
