It took a one-game roll-off for Brittany Slagle to win the 51st Bucyrus Ladies Invitational Bowling Tournament at Suburban Lanes on Saturday.
Slagle came out of the losers’ bracket to edge previously undefeated rookie Carrie Spears, 738-700, in the 3-game final series, forcing the fourth and deciding game.
Slagle defeated Spears in the extra game, 167-142 scratch, and 210-203 with handicap.
The win was the first Ladies Invitational championship for Slagle in her second appearance in the field. Spears came through the winners’ bracket to the final undefeated in her debut in the field of 16.
