BUCYRUS — The finals are set for the 57th Bill Rahm Invitational bowling tournament on Saturday.
The field was cut from eight to two after sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
In the winners’ bracket on Saturday, Terry Miller edged Mike Lear, 826-823 and Dave Shock downed Don McLaughlin, 995-966. Lear and McLaughlin went to the losers’ bracket.
In Saturday’s losers’ bracket action, Tod Spurlock eliminated Brock Lykens, 916-802 and Brayden Bruner topped Jacob Dairy, 904-871, sending Dairy home.
In the second losers’ bracket session on Saturday, Spurlock forfeited to McLaughlin due to injury. McLaughlin rolled a 949. Lear then dropped Bruner from the field, 932-915.
On Sunday in the winners’ bracket, Shock got by Miller, 905-851. Shock earned his place in the final as the winners’ bracket champion. Miller went to the losers’ bracket.
In the first losers’ bracket match, Lear squeaked by McLaughlin, 940-939, eliminating McLaughlin.
Lear then took on Miller and came away with a 922-783 win to survive the losers’ bracket into the final.
Shock and Lear will square off Saturday at 1 p.m. at Suburban Lanes. If Lear wins the four-game match, the pair will have a one-game roll-off for the title.
