At the Division IV baseball tournament in Attica yesterday Seneca East scored three times in the first inning and Jack Daniel pitched a three-hit shutout as the Tigers defeated Buckeye Central 3-0.
The Tigers advance to district play starting Wednesday at Shelby High School.
Seneca East’s Alex Scheiber started the game with a walk and stole second. He scored on a base hit by Braeden Tipple for the game’s first run. Tipple and his twin brother Drew also scored in the first on a Buckeye Central error and a sacrifice bunt.
Daniel struck out five, walked one, and was aided by several outstanding defensive plays by the Tigers who improve to 20-3 on the year.
Buckeye Central pitcher Austin Lutz only allowed two hits, striking out four without a walk. The Bucks are 11-15 on the season.
