What started out as the Bucyrus Redmen’s day, with their Hall of Fame Ceremony held prior to the boys’ basketball game, turned into the Wynford Royals night as the defeated the Redmen 74-51.

Scoring 11 three pointers in the game the Wynford finished their season with a 13-9 overall record and a 10-6 record in the N-10.

The game didn’t start out as a clean sweep for the Royals after Bucyrus took an early 3-0 lead. After two straight two-pointers the Royals took a 4-3 lead. Both teams battled back and forth through the first with Wynford emerging in front by a score of 18-15. The scond quarter the Royals outscored the Redmen 14-6 to take a 32-21 halftime lead and never looked back as they increased their lead to 55-35 at the end of the third quarter.

Braxton Tea had a game high 19 points, Alex Crall had 18 points, and Jack Reed added another 14 for the Royals.

Bucyrus who finishes with a record of 1-21 on the season and a 1-15 N-10 record was led by Gavin Lewis and Harley Robinson’s 12 points. Clinton Carr added 10 points for the Redmen.

WQEL/WBCO’s Jim Radke was honored prior to the game as it was his final regular season game announcing for the station.

Buckeye Central finished their season with a crushing victory over Mohawk 62-27.

The Bucks started out of the gates fast and furious gaining a 19-9 advantage over the Warriors. The Bucks D clamped down in the second quarter as they allowed only 2 points, while scoring 18 on the offensive side for a 37-11 halftime lead.

Buckeye Central was led by a tandem of double-doubles from Grant Loy and Jacob Shade. Shade led the team with 20 points and 12 rebounds with Loy having 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Mohawk’s leading scorer was Justin Morter with 8 points.

With the victory the Bucks finish with a 15-6 record on the season with a 12-4 N-10 record and a second place finish in the league.

Mohawk drops to a 5-16 overall record on the season and a 2-14 conference record.

In other action around Crawford County Colonel Crawford defeated Carey 69-47.
