NORTH ROBINSON — Branyan Rowland, a recent graduate of Colonel Crawford, will take his next step in his academic and athletic career at Baldwin Wallace. He will be majoring in biology while swimming for the Yellow Jackets.
Rowland was a four-year letter winner as well as an All-Ohioan in swimming. He chose Baldwin Wallace over his other options because of their campus, professors, and their swim coach, Laura Demaline.
Rowland had a very successful swimming career, ending his senior meet as a state qualifier and finalist in the 200-medley relay. He and his teammates spent many hours in the weight-room and pool to make this goal happen. He also made the Colonel Crawford Top-10 list as the number two individual in the 100 breaststroke and number 10 individual in the 100 butterfly.
Rowland says that he has improved in his maturity and training through the help of summer swim team and USA with Coach Mike Holzapfel and high school swimming with coach Shelli Ashley.
Ashley stated that “Branyan is an extremely hard worker and has been a team player throughout his career at CCHS. He has grown so much as a swimmer and leader the last four years, and I am sure his future will be bright in both the swimming pool and beyond.”
