LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — For the second time this spring, California (PA) junior Caleigh Rister was chosen the Pennsylvania State Athlete Conference (PSAC) West Pitcher of the Week.

Rister finished with a 3-0 record and a 1.52 ERA over 23.0 innings pitched last week, as the Vulcans posted a 4-2 mark over three league doubleheaders. She tossed three complete games and made one relief appearance while registering a combined 22 strikeouts.

Rister recorded a five-hit, complete-game shutout with nine strikeouts in 7 innings on Tuesday in Game 1 of a doubleheader at Pitt-Johnstown. The Bucyrus, Ohio native returned to the circle in Game 2 and logged 2.0 innings of relief against the Mountain Cats.

Rister allowed three runs over 7 innings while earning a complete-game victory in Game 1 on Wednesday against PSAC West-leading Seton Hill. On Saturday, the 5-foot-4 junior allowed two runs and tallied seven strikeouts in a complete-game win in Game 1 at Slippery Rock.

A two-time All-PSAC West selection, Rister leads the team with an 8-5 record and a 3.69 ERA while making 18 appearances (13 starts). She has tallied 77 strikeouts in 85.1 innings pitched behind 10 complete games, including three shutouts. Additionally, Rister ranks second on the team at the plate with a .357 average (30-for-84) while splitting time primarily between leadoff and cleanup this spring.

Rister received the weekly league pitching honor for the fifth time in her career.

The Vulcans are scheduled to play 10 games this week with a home doubleheader on Friday, April 19.
