Seeking their first win of the season, the Bucyrus Redman welcomed the Mohawk Warriors on Tuesday night for an N10 conference matchup. After a slow first half, which left the Redman trailing 23-18, the Redman outscored the Warriors 31 to 23 in the second half to hand Mohawk their fourth loss of the season and third in conference play.
Bucyrus was led by Clinton Carr with his 16 points and five rebounds. Senior Gavin Lewis chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds. Bucyrus is now 1-4 (1-2) on the season with their next game coming Friday against Colonel Crawford.
Zach Hayman led the way for Mohawk with a game high 21 points. Mohawk is now 1-4 overall and 1-3 in conference competition. Next up for Mohawk is Wynford on Friday night.
In other action Buckeye Central looked to improve their record in the N10 Tuesday night, but the Upper Sandusky Rams had other plans.
The Bucks started quick out of the gate taking a 16-12 lead in the first quarter; however, the Rams outscored Buckeye 22-9 in the second quarter. With the barrage of points, the Rams took a 34-25 lead into the half and never looked back as they added 24 more points in the third and 13 points in the fourth while holding Buckeye Central to only 12 second half points for a 71-37 final.
Wes Vent led the Rams with 16 points and nine boards while Ry Adams added another 16 points to go with four steals. Jevon Dible contributed another 15 points as the Rams improved to 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in league play. Upper Sandusky will host Seneca East on Friday as they seek a league best 8-0 start.
Buckeye Central was led by Trenton Langjahr’s 13 points. Jacob Shade added 10 points and eight rebounds to the Bucks, who fall to 2-4 on the season and 1-3 in league play. Buckeye Central will travel to Ridgedale on Friday.
