The finalists for the 52nd Bill Rahm Invitational Bowling Tournament were established during the second weekend of bowling.

Mitch Long emerged unscathed from the winners’ bracket and will face losers’ bracket survivor, Brian Patrick for the title.

In the first session on Saturday, Nathan Monk defeated Joel Butt, 937-784, eliminating Butt. In the other losers’ bracket match, Rick McWaters edged Mike Lear, 827-826, dropping Lear from the field.

Keith Hildreth rolled the first of three 1000 series of the day, beating Don McLaughlin in the winners’ bracket, 1018-922. In the other winners’ bracket match, Long slipped past Patrick, 954-922.

In the second session, Patrick eliminated McWaters, 1022-874 and Monk defeated McLaughlin, 1046-918, to knock McLaughlin from the field.

With the field down to four on Sunday, Long and Hildreth squared off in the winners’ bracket, with Long prevailing, 947-911. Patrick eliminated Monk, 926-745, in the losers’ bracket.

Patrick then defeated Hildreth, 997-866, to emerge from the losers’ bracket and earned the right to face Long in the final.

If Patrick defeats Long in the four-game final, there would be a one-game roll-off to determine the champion.

The championship match will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, at Suburban Lanes in Bucyrus. The match will be broadcast live on WBCO 1540 AM and 107.5 FM.
