Colonel Crawford’s softball season ended last night in Shelby. The Lady Eagles were defeated by Plymouth 7-5 at the Division IV district semifinals.
Colonel Crawford finishes the season with a record of 20-8 and Plymouth, now 17-12 on the year, will play in Friday’s district championship game.
Each team scored a run in the first with Plymouth adding two in the second. Colonel Crawford took their only lead of the night scoring three runs in the third on a double by Kerri Reynolds and singles by Alexus Burkhart and Lydia Strouse.
Plymouth scored twice in the fifth to take a one run lead. The Lady Eagles tied the score in the bottom of the inning on a Cassie Sager single and a Plymouth error. The Big Red scored what proved to be the winning runs in the sixth with two outs on three singles and a walk.
Colonel Crawford loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh on an error, a single and a walk but a ground out ended the threat.
Plymouth’s Addison Horne struck out seven to pick up the win.
Colonel Crawford’s Sydney Studer, struck out six and finishes the season with a record of 18-7.
