Brian Patrick came out of the losers’ bracket to defeat Mitch Long in a one-game roll-off to secure the championship of the 52nd Bill Rahm Invitational Bowling Tournament on Saturday.

Patrick rolled a 918 four-game series to knock the previously-undefeated long into the losers’ bracket, forcing the roll-off game to determine the champion. Patrick held off Long, 231-214 in the decisive fifth game.

The victory was Patrick’s fourth in his 18 Rahm appearances. He was also runner-up twice and is one of only five bowlers in the invitational’s history to defend his title (1996 & 1997).

Long, himself a three-time champion, secured his fifth runner-up trophy.
