The Buckeye Central Bucks came to Colonel Crawford hoping to clip the Eagles wings at the Mac Morrison Gymnasium Friday night, however Crawford emerged from the ashes like a phoenix with a 58-51 victory.
Colonel Crawford flew out of the gates fast going on a 9-2 run, but Buckeye Central bucked back with an 11-2 run to close out the first and start the second to pull the game within one at 19-18. The teams continued the dog fight through the second with Crawford taking a 29-27 lead into the half.
The Bucks tried to keep it close in the second half, but the Eagles slowly pulled away outscoring the Bucks 13-9 and 18-17 in the third and fourth respectively.
Colonel Crawford was led by Heath Starkey’s double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Cameron McCreary and Harley Shaum added 10 points each to the Eagles’ offense.
With the win Colonel Crawford improves to a 13-2 league record and a 16-4 overall record on the waning season.
Buckeye Central was led by Jacob Shade’s 15 points, while Max Loy added 12 to the Bucks cause.
Buckeye Central falls to 7-8 in the N10 and 9-11 on the season.
In other action around the Northern 10 Athletic Conference Upper Sandusky continued its winning ways manhandling the Wynford Royals 96-56, Carey beat Bucyrus 84-60, and Mohawk picked up the win over Ridgedale.
